She was bred and graded in Germany where she achieved excellent marks, scoring highly on movement and type. She had four foals and was successful in dressage classes in Germany and Holland, before coming to the UK in 2004. She is a very laid back mare and has the sweetest of temperaments. Dali and her sons Rheinking and Rheinzauber were the 2007 Trakehner Mare Family Reserve Champions.
Her sire Elite Stallion Hohenstein www.klosterhof-medingen.de is an outstanding black stallion who has an incredible breeding and competition record. He became premium at the licensing in Neumünster in 1993. In 1994 he was Reserve Champion at his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with a total index of 134.05, winning the dressage section and became rideability champion with 148.29 points. In 1997 Hohenstein presented the champion of the stallion licensing. In 1999 he was proclaimed an Elite Stallion and in 2002 he became stallion of the year and his son, His Highness, became champion of the stallion licensing in Verden and was sold to the US for 515,000 Euros.
Dali is a member of the family of Regatta by Pregel. A family branch of the big original family of Rieta by Draufgänger.Rieta, out of a family with some proven Arabian genes, who made the trek with her breeder Mack-Althof, who kept a stud on high quality standard, mostly mares with Arabian bloodlines.
Rieta was foundation mare in the Trakehner Verband's stud Hunnesrück, her daughter Regina by Altan was responsible for the big influence this family has today. Regatta, her grand daughter, was one of the foundation mares of the stud Bönninghardt, the breeders of Dali. There is long list of State premium and premium mares in her dam's family: mother Rheinsonne,2nd dam Rheinaue by Mozart- who was one the best mares of the whole breed in those years - then Rheinperle by Patron and she is already Regatta's daughter. Rheinsonne is the dam of the Rheinnau by Partout premium in 1999. Stallions out of this family are: Rubin by Flaneur, Ressort by Consul (Reserve Champion of the grading), Reflex by Matador, Raubritter by Ibikus.
In the next generation we find the elite stallion and Grand Prix competitor Itaxerxes, whose son Bardolino proves to be an excellent sport horse producer. E. H. Itaxerxes was the Champion of the stallion grading at Neumünster and went on to be the Champion of the stallion performance test in Warendorf with a total index of 135.96 points. Scoring 132.25 for dressage and 129.24 for jumping. In 1992 he had a FN Breeding Value of 125 points, that made him best of his age group. The rating of 125 points places him among the top 5% of stallions of all breeds in Germany to the present day. This branch of the Regatta family has produced the approved premium stallion Rondo Veneziano, as well as the FEI driving horse Rubin and the recently approved young Gribaldi-son Rheinklang.
